Acting and Dance Instructor, is a former Peppermint Player and Theater Workshop student.  Safiya has been graciously sharing her skills and talents with as many children as possible over the past ten years.  She has been choreographing for various dance groups and singing acts.  Her theater credits include; Of Mice and Men, Teahouse of the August Moon, Bang the Drum Slowly, For Colored Girls…, the Broadway version of A Christmas Carol at Gershwin Theater, and several other productions. At Florida A&M University, Safiya attended workshops conducted by Alumnus T’Keyah Krystal-Kemah of In Living Color and That So Raven.  She currently teaches for the Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble and is the founder and director of the Elizabeth Spot Light Dance Academy and is the art coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Newark.  Safiya currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bloomfield College.
